I have no doubt that there are no bookmakers in SA who have priced up....or even thought of pricing up?

Fallon told my associate at the race that the colt pricked his ears and seemed set to prop 50 meters from the wire when he saw the tire tracks from the starting gate made before an earlier race. Fallon said he was concerned for a millisecond.

Missed the track record by 1/5 of a second.

I am experiencing much relief!

Gitano warms up for World Cup in style

Report: Lingfield, Saturday

Betdaq The BettingExchange Winter Derby Trial Stakes (Listed) 1m2f, 4yo+

GITANO HERNANDO warmed up for a crack at the Dubai World Cup at Meydan on March 27 with a convincing win in the Winter Derby Trial at Lingfield on Saturday.

The Marco Botti-trained colt, who developed into a top-class performer throughout 2009, quickened smartly under Kieren Fallon in the straight to see off long-time leader Suits Me.

Stan James reacted by trimming the Team Valor-owned Gitano Hernando to 8-1 (from 12) for the Dubai World Cup and Fallon was impressed by four-year-old's display.

"It was very smooth," he said. "He's better than them and I thought on the home turn he'd win nicely.

"He's a very good horse and is improving all the time."

:)-DGood stuff, Barry! I'm also chuffed for my countryman who trains him and for the comeback man who rides him. Gives me lots of reasons to root for him in Dubai.

PS, I will investigate the feasibility of Hollywood pricing up on the Dubai World Cup.

Good man Magic, have taken this up before on ante-post markets and the general feeling from the bookies is that we do not have enough demand or should I say interest.

However you are probably looking at

6/1 Gio Ponti and Vision D'etar
8/1 Twice Over and Gitano
10/1 Bar

Keep me a bit 16/1 Presvis

cheers!

I can't promise anything but there's no harm in asking.

Magic, Kieren has been my favorite for years and we have always done well together. He has a great feeling about this horse. That and that alone gives me a lot of confidence. Botti is pretty sharp in his own right, especially for somebody his age. He is really going places in this game.
