Think it was 1974, (36 years) probably around 1976 FPTP.
I remember trying to register they had no clue what I was trying to explain, could not work from home these days the town had areas for residential etc, and took an office in Silverton Pretoria.

I have an aunt and cousins who live in Pretoria We used to go there on holidays. We used to drive from Cape Town and the fuel must have cost about R60 there and back. I used to go to Caledonian Stadium and watch the football if Arcadia were playing. I worked for a sign company that had its HQ in Pretoria

one thing I can say is that as an ex-tipster I found many value bets etc just because I studied form every day for about three-four hours. You might be lucky and pick one or two nice priced horses with minimal work every now and then but for consistency you need to study and watch as many races as you can. I battle to find a rhythm now as most days(unless I've studied a particular race) I hardly put in more than half an hour per card which is never enough time.
