We have similar issues here,where bookmakers can welch if claiming a mistake on their part.
I think that a transaction with a bookmaker should now be treated as a normal common law contract and their unilateral rules would be null and void.They stem back to the days when gambling debts were not enforcable,and therefore not contractual.
