The Betfair in-running markets in Australia have been torn to shreds by the people using the trial.

Maybe they will now return to something like normal.

In my experience, betting live in play only works when set up live on track as the feeds are often 5-10 seconds delayed

Satellite feeds in the current age, with 10mb lines mean you can get pictures from all over the world delivered to your desktop within 1 sec of live.

With the greatest respect to TT, showing S.African racing 6 secs behind live is a laugh.

A reasonable delay would be 3 secs for DSTV encryption and the hops from Track-Rivonia-Home.

They guys used to do with cricket. Sit in the stand all day, hopefully get lots of opportunities, have fast electronic hardware, take bets on catches, etc and hope they beat the 5-10 second delay. But that is not punting. Not sure if still happened even just before COVID.
