Against Zimbabwe, West Indies and now against Ireland, SA look like the champions elect. Then realization clicks in when you see how poor they were against India.

At least we saw some good runs. Let's hope there is more in the tank as the games get tougher....

unfortunately that has been the problem. Not getting up in the matches that count. They are arguably the best team never to have won the world cup.

I can't get too confident Neigh as the memories of 92, 99, 2003, 2007 and 2011 still sit in the mind. If they reach the final and there is one ball to bowl and the opposition can't mathematically win, only then will I be confident. You cant blame me or any other Protea fan. :)

And 1996 when Donald and De Villiers were left out to accommodate spinners and Lara (probably the best player of spin bowling ever) took the spinners to the cleaners...hit Symcox for 5 consecutive fours...and then their spinners tied us in knots to leave us +-20 runs short...that was a(nother) major snatching of defeat from the jaws of victory...

unbelievable that the organisers have scheduled the Australia v Afghanistan match to be played on the quickest pitch in the world ie Perth. If Afghanistan bat first and Johnson and Starc fire then we could see the quickest match ever in the entire history of the World Cup. :(

Some-one will get injured...Aussies like to be bullies...who can forget Brett Lee overstepping and bowling (throwing) 6 consecutive bouncers at Piers Morgan and breaking his arm...Piers Morgan may have a big mouth but Brett Lee's ego was so fragile that he had to respond in that manner... :(

Yes and although Morgan has a big mouth, that was uncalled for by Lee. I have a big mouth on the forum and I am sure that most of my detractors on the forum would give me a gentle kicking and save some for the next guy.

on the otherhand anybody, with the exception of England, can beat them on their day

That is true ..........particularly of the top 5 sides ,which means all 5 sides should be about 7/2 (including the overround)..................instead Sri Lanka are 19/1.

Anyway ,I am going to take the price on exchanges and hope they will be much shorter, for trading purposes, before they are knocked out??(maybe as early as Sunday if they beat Australia)

Sri Lanka surely can't miss the quarters - so I also had a few rand at 16/1 which seems real good value in comparison with the other big 4 - match winners in Sangakara and Malinga - has the ability to take those vital early wickets - and also not easy to hit him for 15 runs per over in the last few
