Correction...we were 1 run ahead after over 1, 2 runs ahead after over 9 (we lost 1 more wicket), 2 runs ahead after over 16 (we lost 3 more wickets)...

We only took 4 wickets so no pressure on the NZ batsmen...no wickets for Parnell, Rabada and Ngidi with the latter two going for 12,33 and 11,66 runs/over when Netherlands overall run rate was 7,9...got to pitch up when it matters...no use bullying teams only when conditions suit...the other fast bowler, Nortje, took 1-10 in his 4 overs so he adapted to the slowness of the pitch but our first 3 didn't...disappointing...

Oh dear. SA thought they could just turn up. The only bowler who took it seriously was Nortje. What an embarrassment losing to a team whose country is best known for tulips and canels

Absolutely devastated. Woke up throughout the morning to see parts of the game. Shocking display by our bowlers. When the pressure is on, we cannot produce the results.

If we do not win our remaining ODI league games and end up in the qualifiers in Zimbabwe, beware we might not even qualify for the World Cup next year.

Time for drastic changes.

SA cricket would drown in a teaspoon of water if given the opportunity...

Pakistan, on the other hand, when almost dead from thirst would swim through a desert and find the sea...

The thing is Pakistan cricket team find a way to get through adversity they put themselves in and stay in the fight whilst we would waste any opportunitie we have and snatch defeat from the jaws of progress...

Long suffering Proteas fan. I am lost for words. That was the ultimate choke against a non playing Test nation in Netherlands. When England do lose against the minnows, they still bring their 'A' game against superior opposition. We had two chances to qualify and we stuffed up both.

de Kock and Rabada both had WCs to forget. They are the two world class players in the side and they let themselves down badly. In hindsight Hendricks should have replaced de Kock and Klassen played as wk.

On the bright side that was, I think, the last Boucher was in charge on the team. Things can only get better from now on.

They are reports that Lance Klusener might be the next white ball coach. Maybe they are thinking if we do end up playing the qualifiers in Zimbabwe, he has experience in these tournaments. He will come full circle after being pushed out by Smith and Boucher in the 2000s.

Long suffering indeed - there's an ad on the radio here containing the phrase 'Will the Proteas ever win the World Cup' - well not this year :(

Many things were said - but I don't think that any ever had a thought that the Proteas could lose to the Netherlands - but a combination of a wrong decision at the toss, poor bowling and a moderate batting display resulted in the inexplicable result - added to the fact that the first match against Zim, we should never have lost - but still one does not deserve to make the play-offs after losing to the Netherlands

Blaming individuals is easy - I still believe Bavuma should never have been in the team - and the one decision he had to make today when winning the toss (who else had a say in that  ) back-fired badly. Have a look at Rabada's figures in the tournament - if he were not an 'untouchable', imo he would not have played after the game against India; de Kock did not show up when it mattered and neither did Rossouw; Parnell another imo lucky to make the team, granted he did not bowl as badly as I expected, but his batting - lets be kind and say that he did not really have the opportunity. Then who-ever decided to play a lone spinner (Markram at best a part-timer) on a dry and slow pitch this morning, just added to the embarrassment

To top it all - a test series against the Aussies in Australia beckons - more suffering lying in wait for us Protea supporters :(
