I only occasionally follow football and I am not a Manchester United supporter/fan. I actually confess to being an Everton 'supporter' and they look more likely to end up in a relegation fight rather than win any trophies. But I do wonder at the vitriolic glee that follows every time United are beaten. Defeat is something that all teams and their supporters have to deal with and it now seems that time has arrived for Manchester United. Inevitably that fate will befall every other team in the future.

I remember being quite perplexed in Ferguson's last season as to how they managed to win the league . They seemed to me to be quite ordinary so Sir Alex certainly appeared to time his retirement perfectly. 2014/2015 have simply confirmed what I suspected back then - they are no champion side at present. So if you support another premiership side you should just be savouring the moment without putting the boot in as it is unlikely to last for very long given the history and resources of ManU.

I shall remember last night's tie more for the outstanding performance by the referee than for anything else. He stood man alone and made a succession of commendably accurate calls when the home side resorted to cheating (Yes! It's cheating) in their efforts to force a tie.

I am pretty confident that at another time and with a different official at least one of two 'simulations' would have resulted in penalties. Replays clearly vindicated the referee's decisions - they were nothing more than 'dives'. Well done, sir, in the face of that pressure.

Moyes and Van Gaal have the same thing in common, making Rooney indispensable to the club.. They both are like love-drunk teenagers when Rooney's name comes up in interviews, "ooh my captain, blah blah blah" .. Remember when he lost the ball against leicester that resulted in a goal and he started shouting his own players, captain fantastic! Lol.. And that wonderful diagonal he plays every game from one corner of the pitch (inside his half)to the other then realising there's nobody in the box coz he is 60m down field for the wingers to feed the crosses in to, genius! Then we end up with 50 crosses a game and nobody at the end of them coz strikers are helping out in areas which they should not be in.. Time for Rooney to realise that he can't be everywhere, there needs to be accountability in that defense and knowing ur duty, under fergie it was the case, rooney cud stay up and if teams lost the ball the counter was on, now teams lose it and rooney is in the opposition half having to work it out from there and the opposition have regrouped.. GOOD ON WELBECK! GET IN SON!!

United will get 6 points from the next 6 games and kiss goodbye to Champions League football for another season.
It isn't all doom and gloom. On home form only they are second and have scored more goals than Chelsea and City. Only Arsenal equal them for goals scored. Unfortunately their away form has been abysmal.
No trophies in Manchester this year unless City fluke the Champions League which is unlikely and not worth a flutter at long odds. LVG is 40/1 to be the next manager gone and worth a bet. IMHO Giggs will be in charge again before the season ends. The only risk is that Gus Poyet at 5/1 gets fired first.
I do have an admission to make and that is that I do suffer from "vitriolic glee" when the rags lose but am receiving treatment and thought that the photograph below of the King of the Stretford End scoring with a delightful touch would cheer all the United supporters up..

British tabloids going to town on LVG and his team. Falcao, di Maria and Van Persie definitely on their way at the end of the season. If they fail to make the top 4 they wont be signing anybody who could get them there. I am afraid Man U fans that your time in the sun has ended and boy does it not make me want to jump off the roof top. No wait a minute if I did that then I would not be able to enjoy watching all of you moaning and whining.

Huh you can not be serious
sorry I should have said more and was leaning more towards the long balls and how impossible it was for Arsenal to win those with him around. Regardless now, hoping we beat utd in the league with a bigger score. Some wounds are still sore. Lol.

if you talking about the 8-2 I was at that match. Not nice at all although Arsenal did at the time have 8 regulars out injured.

After the match Roy Keane suggested that the United keeper should have fouled Welbeck when on in goal. Maybe in your day Keane when Ferguson had the refs under control and nothing would have happened to the keeper.
