Have we gone too VAR ? was created by Dave Scott
I am on a couple of whatsapp groups and VAR is causing some serious heated exchanges.
It's predominantly soccer but I also felt it was a problem in the Rugby 🏉

I am sure we had less discussion when we just accepted the refs or linesman call and yes he made a few wrong ones but that was part of the game.

Would appreciate your views ...

Here is an extract

21 minutes added onto game…mainly because of VAR stoppages…scrap it and let the referee and linesmen make good honest decisions 🤬🤬🤬

Also too many players blessing and crossing themselves…probably never been in a church ⛪️ in their life…wankers 🤐

Gary that game was destroyed.:: F…VAR, the ref also destroyed the game.
He had absolutely no control ..VAR controls the game.
Sorry guys, soccer has become a game of sissies.
Give a red card penalty and get on with game.Unlucky for Spurs to loose 2 key player’s due to injuries.. this made it impossible to get back in the game. Absolutely pissed off
We had control of the game from the start …

Guys there’s massive cheating with VAR the quicker they scrap it the better,it’s busy fucking up the game my thought.

I agree we have gone far to VAR .
Back to basics and yes the ref and linesman do make the odd wrong call but that was just part of the game
I felt it also spoilt the Rugby 🏉

I agree , when you are clearly offside , no discussion
Son goal, how long did they take. And if that was given
Different game.

I think VAR can work, they just need to apply it to offside and everything else gets decided by the ref, simplify it

that Son goal was top class,VAR took so long to review the ball hair decision what a shame.

, also if the rule is you get the ball and you then hit the player…: follow thru ???!
How can you stop in mid air..::
That would have been a great tackle in the old days. BUT when the player rolls around like he has been shot with an AK…. Sorry the game has become a TV game controlled
by VAR officials

Simplify it and it will work

I agree

.......in rugby it needs to be balanced and there should be 2 refs.....one on the field to ref the game and another watching on screen looking for those off the ball offences and the "dirty" play to try clean up the game.....as I felt that some of the RWC games were spoiled by poor refereeing where it seemed that the ref was too busy watching players and not the ball and getting in the way of the play.....also the ref needs to rely on the second opinion of the off field ref especially if he is unable to keep up with the ball in play..... .

The same Tottenham fans and pundits who just over the weekend were laughing at Arsenal for complaining about VAR and telling them to accept it. The only thing that disappointed me about last nights match is that Chelsea lost the chance of sticking at least 8 past them Now watch Spurs drop like a stone in water

If VAR is used correctly then it takes away all the controversy from the game but as it stands it’s bringing more controversy. Arsenal have compiled a list where VAR have blatantly gone against them. There are over 30 instances over the past two seasons. It’s clear corruption and nothing else. I am sure that every other club in the league have also been cheated by these officials.

Funny that in the German, Spanish and Italian leagues there are hardly any issues with VAR calls. Something stinks when it comes to the PL.

.......caught the highlights of the Mamelodi Sundowns game against Wydad in Morocco last week end.....the ref in order to show off their state of the art VAR setup went over to view the blatant Moroccan handball where the player deliberately stopped a goal attempt with his upper arm.....the ref replayed the action over a dozen times before awarding the penalty and a yellow card....FFS a blind man could have made the call without VAR.....

Just watched the Toulouse/Liverpool game, I always thought that if the ball hits your body first then hand no handball, specially if you are trying to get your hand out of the way.
