does anyone on this forum ever play online poker?
Used to play piggs peak until they closed but i have started with silver sands

Big fan of Hold'm. The reason why PP closed down is because of the Supreme Court of Appeal's ruling. The ruling basically states that all online gaming is illegal.(Excludes sport and Horse) Most online poker rooms are far away fro extradition the the USA and RSA with abroad based ownership is illegal. I think collecting tax was the main reason. Under correction but Silver Sands is also illegal for SA citizens

I was also a huge fan off Piggs but all we have now is SS ah its not the same but no problems with withdraws ect ect

Still see some South Africans playing in Pokerstars
But not sure if they are based in South Africa

I looked into starting a gentlemen club online for South Africans a few years ago

Had the idea of private ( home games online ) games , but hit all hurdles

We have about 100 illegal on line machines in our area but nobody would appear to care
we have 2 legal machines and have been trying to increase to 5 for almost 2 yrs
to do the right thing in SA is a nightmare
the crooks certainly have an easier time

So right Dave .........had a fun meeting with our neighbourhood watch ...............we had 2 , 24 hour manned booms,at huge cost and the only people inconvenienced were the law abiding citizens ...............the criminals took out everything in their way! :dry:

silver sands sent emails offering bonus deposits and and their website.I must say i fell for it and deposited the max.. only to read the fine print and realise to qualify you have to play a unbelievable amount of hands. think it works out to 9000 raked hands of poker within 10 days to earn the amount that the adds say.Should be laws against these types of offers.After one day i decided to lose my bonus and withdraw.

Cash only Bob. Tournaments on line is too much luck as players tend to be over aggressive to build a stack early on.

I agree with you with tournaments online, what amazes me is the way they play so wildly in the begining, all in. And the amount of times people rebuy in comparason to the prize pool.Then after rebuys close then sensible play starts.Its agravating fold a hand which turns out to be a winning hand just because someone doesnt care how many times he re buys
