Am a very infrequent visitor to betting shops nowadays, but while I was in town this afternoon, I had a quick look in each of the three betting shops in the high street just to see how busy they were:
William Hill 1 customer (optimistic notice on the door said a maximum of 14 customers could be in the shop at any one time!)
Betfred 1 customer (seemed more interested in his shopping bag than anything else)
Ladbrokes 0 customers (although I suppose there may have been one in the toilet - always assuming the toilets are allowed to be open these days)
Doesn't bode well.
