Whats wrong with SA Rugby board

Meyer has been out of the picture for 3 months now and still no announcement of a new coach. Who on earth is in charge of SA Rugby as he/she needs to see a shrink. How can arguably the 2nd best rugby playing nation on this planet not have a new coach in position after all of this time. Incompetence, unprofessional, inept, useless are the kindest of words to describe the SA Rugby board. Come on guys get moving and appoint a coach for the team as the less time that he has to prepare the more chance they have of coming stone last again in the Rugby Championship. Now COME ON SCOTLAND

@cnc...I do agree it is craziness of the highest order...but the transformation agenda / prerogatives that have been announced for the next four years have made potential applicants apprehensive about putting their names forward...or is there no-one of quality available now with all the dithering by the board ??

Evidently the first Bok match is not till mid-year!

thats just not good enough farawaysaint soon to lose RK. To achieve your goals you have to plan early. What are SA Rugby boards goals? To make a laughing stock out of the team or to win the Rugby Championship and have a successful tour of the Northern Hemipshere at the end of the year. The former looks the obvious at this point. Unless we are going to get another coach who already knows his team, a Meyer clone. Choose all his mates and friends of friends kids.

If my memory serves me correctly, there was a press conference and the spokesman for SARU mentioned that they have not found the correct person for the position, and are not in any sort of rush as the next board meeting is only scheduled for end of April, and that is when they will announce the new coach.... I am by no means giving my nod of approval, as imo, the new coach should already be mingling with provincial coaches before super rugby starts.... But that's what I remember reading a while back.

I would have thought cricket is the last thing you would discuss after getting embarrassed on home soil..

For a nation that invented the game and that forever are telling the world how wonderful their team is you sure have a poor return. One World Cup won on home soil with the help of a dodgy Russian linesman is not much to shout from the rooftops

WP are financially in the kak, they never had enough money to contract the U21 players. Thanks Eddie Jones and England for buying him out of his contract..... :blink:
If this is anything to go by then the rest of SA rugby is in the same boat, what with sponsors pulling out, their financial commitment to developement and the fat-cat salaries.
