High-drawn hopefuls cut for Gold and Silver Cups
WILLIAM HILL reacted to Friday's Ayr Bronze Cup result by slashing the prices of those drawn high in both the Gold and Silver Cups that the firm sponsors at Ayr on Saturday.
Hills also cut the price about a high-drawn winner of the Gold Cup to 11-8 (from 15-
, pushing middle-drawn and low-drawn winners out to 6-5 (from 11-10) and 100-30 (from 11-4) respectively.
In the Gold Cup Victoire de Lyphar was cut to 7-1 (from 9), while Jonny Mudball (8-1 from 12), Signor Peltro (16-1 from 25) and Striking Spirit (25-1 from 33) were also cut for the £150,000 guaranteed contest.
The price about a David Nicholls-trained winner was also cut to 9-4 (from 5-2).
In the Silver Cup, Hills cut Sea Of Leaves to 14-1 (from 16), Lowther to 14-1 (from 20) and Bonnie Charlie to 25-1 (from 33).
Victor Chandler cut Workforce to 5-1 (from 11-2) for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe following sustained support and also reported movement in two ante-post chase markets, shortening Loosen My Load to 25-1 (from 33) for the Arkle after an impressive win at Listowel on Friday and Niche Market to 25-1 (from 33) for the Grand National.
Dangerous Midge, winner of the Dubai Duty Free Arc Trial at Newbury on Friday, was inserted in the Breeders' Cup Turf market by both Coral and Paddy Power, who went 10-1 and 12-1 respectively.
Paddy Power also reported a move for Frankel in the Derby, cutting the impressive Henry Cecil-trained colt to 10-1 (from 12) for the Epsom Classic.
