Your post supporting the false start, and its reasons, would suggest that you must be appalled that a false start was not called in the 6th race at D'ville today.
The favourite reared twice whilst in the stalls and again as they jumped(a bit of a "kyk weer" of Sat actually)
(I personally agree with the starter today, but today and Sat. can't both be right)

BTW the stipes explanation, delivered by Stan Elley,is nonsense........watch the picture,in slow motion from the front, and watch gate 5 up to and including the start?
(the question of consistency needs attention...is there a universal instruction to starter?)

Did you watch it?
If you wondering whether I think certain issues are biased.....yes I do!(Interesting that the slow motion was not shown, which is the norm when stipes feedback is given,so I did it myself)
Do I think the rules are applied consistently...no I don't,and that view is shared by many.
I now try to go to some public racing venue at least once a month, just for a change and it has been interesting to gauge the mood.Anybody who earns a living out of this industry should do it as they may be alarmed at the general feeling of even some of the staunchest punters. The most common bitch is inconsistency and tote payouts!
Racing cannot just ignore forever.

Have you called the NHA for a full explanation?
If you feel so strongly on your views why haven't you?
Your remark regarding unsatisfied punters is concerning, however there are always valid reasons for proceedings. Perhaps more time should be spent on relaying this vital information to the public.
I've approached the NHA on 2 occasions, both times leaving convinced and content.
011 683 9283, try it!

Rob had another look at that start this morn and fully agree with you.Clearly there is little consistency in what goes on and it will lead to frustration and anger amongst punters.Im not sure if 2cents has had a close look or not but he seems to be more intent on defending the stipes and NHA than answering the question. Maybe he cant or does not want to rock the boat.

Another too afraid to insist on an explanation incase they proven wrong. The bottom line is get hold of the facts instead of thumbsucking your own sequence of events, and if you still dubious then thats another deliberation. Oh and if you are satisfied don't forget to post!! (

Darryl, have you watched that start? The suggestion that all was well, and that the horse merely stumbled on leaving the stalls,is belied by the visual facts. The horse is fractious and rears in the stalls and then again as the stalls open and,on landing, the knees buckle, but from a height of over a metre.
Have a look .....You don't need a report to tell you that, visually, that occurred.
If you are not prepared to at least form your own opinion,it says it all really.

2cents im only too happy to be proved wrong but it would be nice if the relevant authorities came out with a consistent application of the rules and a plausible explanation after each incident. As for thumb sucking thats your opinion ive been around the block and i know what i and many others saw however i respect your point of view.

Rob we're all able to watch, and think what happened. I don't have the facts of what transpired, it seems neither do you.
Rob and Bloodshot why are you both so loath in posing a few questions to the NHA regarding these 2 incidents?

Make an appointment and go there open minded, watch the patrol films and more importantly listen to their interpretation.
