Frodo, that is the problem with sand....runs can differ by 20 lengths within a week!

Did PF run to her true ability that day? On paper, to me, it looks like a below-par effort.

Rob i'm not trying to put you off CP but personally i'm wary of that stable (on the highveld) right now.

Thats the problem with sand,Blood, almost any result can be justified afterwards because of the in and out form. There is almost always an "if" about any formline you use.
My strategy on sand is "wide on PA's" and take my losses if they run to apparent form! Works more often than not!

Personally I don't think Sabrine's Choice is in the race (famous last words); on the sand she was easily beaten by Candy Cotton who was in turn easily beaten by Wild Swan and has to give most of the runners weight today - so I prefer others

sabrines choice was not fancied last time.. i can tell you over 1200 today she will be a massive runner. If she beats the draw she will win. The interesting fact about engagemnts win is that it was mighty impressive, but was the race time???? not really in my opinion. I may eat my words, but its an opinion

Excuse the ramblings but I like a 'story' behind the selections.

Know what I'm looking for from the racecard yet it seems that the days of horses 'jumping off' the paper on Vaal Sand racedays are few and far between.
Proven sand form (often alternate over conventional) with 'value' bets remains essential for me whilst increasing the 'thrill factor' and reducing the 'regret factor' are paramount.
Normally put a line thro unproven sand runners, especially favourites, yet with MDK and OAF fielding such fancies may not be so wise today. Will be with the draw in the last 4 races even though the fields are small.

R1 6 VICTORY SERENADE (strongest sand form, trainers runners do well on sand) - win and swingers with 5 + 15.

R2 13 CAMDEN DANCER (good lto but trainer weak on sand) - small quartet, dbl float 1+13 with 2-5-6-7.

R3 6 FUNWAYO (good lto but trainer weak on sand) - small swingers with 3-10-12.

R4 8 STARSTRUCK (good consistent sand form, trainer in fair form) - swiners with 3+4.

R5 3 FUZZY CUZZY (a bit hopeful) - small quartet, dbl float 3+7 with 1-2-4-6.

R6 too tricky for me.

R7 9 CROWN PRINCESS (also more hopeful awaiting CSL return to form) - small quartet, dbl float 4+9 with 1-4-5-6.

R8 7 INTERCONTINENTAL (MDK so soon after lto - confident ???). 2 CAESOUR'S CHAMP has reasonable sand form and good draw with 'handy' running style.
6 ICE CRUSHER ran a great race lto on sand, poor draw again. Quartet dbl float 2+7 with 1-5-6-9.
