Match Races - Pirates, Magic et al help

I remember the great build up to Brainteaser/ Divine act and was it Senor Santa/Northern Princess too - Guys remember a horse called High Profile(I think that was his name - he was a giant that Chris Snaith trained for Jafees - ) Did he not have a match race with another horse using a flag start because he battled to load because of his size- If he did compete in a race of this nature what was his competion's name and who rode in the race and what was the outcome - (getting old can't remember) - Any other local Match races that happened in the last 50 years or so? - Also memory jog for me Larne(or Lawn) - was this a grey horse? thanks in advance

Mr H,a top sprinter Double Eagle in a match race with and (I think) the opposition was Jolly Drummer(but thats hazy)

Larne was a top filly and Lawn was the highest priced yearling of his year, bought by Cyril Treger.I don't think either was grey though?

Hi to you all,Im new member.Ive called myself countrymember.(so now you can all shout out YES we remember).I looked at many sites over the past few months and thought the ABC was my kind of site with the good tippings.lovely sense of humour and no cry babies that ive seen elsewhere.I will,at a later stage, update 'WHO ARE YOU' with some of my memories about racing etc.I thought you may be interested to know that I was at the Jolly Drummer/Double Eagle match race in the very early 1970's.I know that Mr Nick Lambouris owned one of the horses (he also owned the nest and cuban hat roadhouses----I think----on the Durban beachfront).Enjoy your racing and please keep up the chatter and the serious issues that need to be discussed.
