Racing Post Trophy -Saturday

Not the Hype of last weeks big 2yo race but still looks a cracker, sure this is the last Group1 in the UK until may next year?
M Halford has been attracting all the big owners lately, and for a young trainer this is a big acheivemnt to have guys like the Agha Khan and Sheik Mo supplying you with expensive purchases..
Casemento is one such horse, supplied to Halford by sheik Mo and ridden by Frankie for his boss, impressive winning the beresford stakes last time out should take a bit of stopping.. Card

Good call Bob (tu)
Casamento leads Irish charge in Trophy victory
Racing Post Trophy (Group 1) 2yo, 1m
THE appointment of Michael Halford as one of Sheikh Mohammed's worldwide team of trainers may have come from out of the blue, but there was nothing surprising about the way Casamento stormed to success in the Racing Post Trophy, granting his delighted trainer a maiden Group 1 victory.
"It's a wonderful feeling and he's been a great horse to have all the way through, he was never a moment's bother," said Halford, who was watching the winner as his trainer for the last time.
Casamento will now travel to Dubai, where he will join the main Godolphin operation and be trained for the 2011 Epsom Derby, with a tilt at the Guineas a possibility, according to Sheikh Mohammed's representative John Ferguson.
William Hill responded to the victory by cutting the juvenile to 8-1 (from 14) for next year's 2,000 Guineas, Paddy Power went 10-1 about both Guineas and Derby (from 14 and 16 respectively).
Punters had taken the hint about Casamento after his owner paid £17,500 to supplement the colt for the Racing Post Trophy - unquestionably, bookies and bettors also remembered his eye-catching narrow defeat behind Pathfork two starts previously - and he went off the 2-1 favourite.
The confidence of backers appeared to be coursing through the veins of Frankie Dettori as well. He settled Casamento behind leader Dubawi Gold for the majority of the race and only opened the tanks in the last two furlongs.
Casamento responded by lugging right, and daylight revealed a host of rivals in the throes of laying down their challenge. Dunboyne Express travelled poorly, and looked but briefly dangerous; the two Aidan O'Brien-trained horses, on the other hand, were ominously well-placed.
Master Of Hounds, Johnny Murtagh's chosen mount, was first to strike forward, almost joining Casamento a furlong from home, but unable to sustain the intensity of his drive down the middle of the track quickly dropped out of contention.
As Casamento appeared to truly find his stride in the final yards of the race, the other O'Brien runner, Seville, came hurtling down the stands' side as if the penny had dropped and theyoungster was suddenly savouring his task.
There was to be no catching Casamento, however, who held off the late surge and crossed the line three-quarters of a length clear of Seville. Master Of Hounds, completing the Irish 1-2-3, wasanother two lengths adrift.
Dettori said: "He's a lovely big horse with plenty of strength and a lot of presence.
"The race went as planned. I had watched videos of him and knew that he'd get the trip well, so about two-and-a-half furlongs out I let him go.
