What a show from Churchill Downs. The coverage ,camera work, interviews build up to queen ''Z'',narrow defeat, plus the crowd gave a person goose bumps. Those YANKS showed the racing world how it should be done.Bravo Bravo Bravo.is all i can say, regardless of whatever time of the morning it was, the show was magnifecent.Racing was the winner.

Racing really needed a zenyatta victory yesterday. I must disagree with you and I think racing was the loser yesterday.

She transcends her sport and a win yesterday would have left an imprint not seen for many years.

But yes the coverage was phenominal...

Felt sorry for the 73000 at the track and the millions watching at home, not sure watching their hero being whiped 23 times will endevour them to racing

I was at the track.

The noise level when Zenyatta made her move in the homestretch was much louder than anything I'd ever heard at Secretariat's Belmont or any Kentucky Derby. People went apeshit! I had to stuff my fingers in my ears. I thought my head was going to fly right off!

The general feeling among the professionals is that Zenyatta only gained stature in defeat.

Yes, she lost, but racing did not lose anything in the process.

Barry I saw you lead in pluck on tv if I'm not mistaken.

I watched the race with a number of friends who don't have the first clue about horse racing and they were transfixed with zenyatta. They were willing her on from her hopeless position and when she started her run everyone started going balistic.

All you could were the groans of despair in the room when the line came too soon. Everyone said there hearts were beating like mad and these are from people who have no idea about racing. I can only imagine what it was like trackside.

She might not have taken on the best very often but no horse on the planet can do what zenyatta can do, she truly is a once in a lifetime. She's still got plenty running in her and I hope she keeps on running! Racing needs her!

Well one champ might stay in training?

Goldikova 50-50 to stay in training, says Head

GOLDIKOVA, the most successful horse in Breeders' Cup history, could attempt to still further redefine the boundaries of equine achievement after trainer Freddie Head on Sunday described Europe's racing queen as "50-50" to return to America next year.
