Going to post. What to look for

Morning from a wet Cape Town. What do you 'look' for when a horse goes down to post? It seem's to me that everybody has his/her own opinion. The Tellytrack presenters that is normally spot on ( or close ) is Clive Basel & sometimes Nico. Can you please help? Once again, thank you for a magic forum.

im no expert but look for : 1. the horses stride - this can be difficult cos sometimes it can be deceiving if a horse has a short action. 2 that the horse is settled and not pulling or keen 3. the horse is not sweating too much. 4. imo the horse should go down relaxed and look ready to run- ears pricked up is usually a good sign, and a nice relaxed moving action. hope it helps but remember each horse has its own traits and habits and if u watch regularily u will see if they look better each time and how they move to the start.

I have always found that 4 legs is a good start plus all the sweating, uptight, pulling, going down short etc
At the end of the day...................your lucky number probably the best (tu)

I'm definetly no expert ,
but one thing i have noticed that takes place regularly .This mainly in sprint races , when the horse goes down to the start if it pulls too much and starts shaking its head left and right it seldom wins the race . Please note usual disclaimers apply !
