Morning guys looking forward too the big race from Kenilworth,always great to see good horses young and old racing each other and with 9 horses rated 100+ in a nine runner field were spoiled today.

My best bet must be Weatherman in race 5.

What is the the reason for the weights in Race 1 at Kenilworth. 59 instead of 58

Hi Shayne, all I could think it could be is that the weight for age varies according to distance and presumably 1000 and 1200 meters 1kg is given and 1400 and 1600 meters 2kg's are given. Prehaps over 2000 meters a further kg is given. I know there is a scale which is available on tabonline.co.za for merit race's but am not sure how they work out maiden plates and would assume it would be per distance raced.

I really fancy Big On Broadway today, she was rated highly by Glen early in her career and run less than a length behind Mahbooba. She went off at the end of KZN raid and had a nice come back run in the Cape. If she comes back to her earlier form she will be a very hard horse to beat and is my best bet of the day.
