I wasn't comparing Perana to Ancestral Fore winning the Gold Cup, merely using the latter as an example of De Kock "breaking" the status quo and succeeding. It didn't work this time, clearly, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. The Met could be interesting, but don't Investec sponsor the Cape Derby on the same day? It might be a little difficult for Bernard Kantor's horse to brass the Derby for the Met.:)

As for the 3yos, I thought last season's crop of males was very strong but it is much too soon to try and make comparisons with this season's bunch. It was the 3yo filly crop of last season that I had serious reservations about, but seeing as Flirtation (and Alderry, for that matter) both represent that crop I now clearly have to have a serious rethink. That's one of the great things agout racing, I suppose - nothing stays the same for long. :D

Yes, to fall back on that old cliche; the only constant is change.

I still think the 3yr old fillies from last year were a pretty average bunch, with one or two exceptions - also I think Flirtation missed a few of those 3yr old features, and she is probably better than most of her age group - that being said the handicapper is surely going to nail her for her Summer Cup success, so let's see how she fares at level weights or having to give weight away.

An interesting contest awaits on Saturday in the Avontuur Fillies Guineas; at first glance it seems that Ebony Flyer has the race at her mercy - but Igugu surely warrants some respect after Hollywoodboulevard's easy win on Saturday.

Flirtations seems to be a turffontein specialist she has now won 4 from 4!

Yep, have to respect Igugu. The form of the RTR Cup has been franked, and she probably prefers 1600m to 1400m anyway - but Ebony Flyer could be a serious monster in the making! A race to look forward to, for sure.X(

Rudra,Aslan, PJ all ran really well at weights

Dingaans form i will guess wont hold up.
