Kenilworth is two seconds slower than Gauteng on average; an animal doing a 1000m in 56 seconds in gp will take approximately 58 seconds to achieve the same in the mother city..i agree that the wind and probably softer conditions are the cause...

Kenilworth = Sea level and Turffontein = High altitude
don't athletes run faster at a high altitude where the air is thinner.
is that not why the top DBN (58 sec) and CPT (58 seconds) sprinters do well at Turffontein?
