What a great start to the year ,lets relive some memories and see if we can get this thread rocking and rolling,i have done the first 3 months, but if you guys can throw some memories at me a will try and find a replay for us...

January

The year got under way with Pocket Power winning his 4th Queens Plate beating Kapil by 3/4L race replay.

A few weeks later Hear the Drums travelled to Kenliworth for the CAPE FLYING CHAMPIONSHIP only to yet again find a few too good for our record breaker, running probably his best race of the year in the meantime.. race replay

The week later Pocket Powers wee sister River Jetez stole the show and her Brothers thunder when winning the j&b Met race replay

The Unbeaten 3yo Bravura a horse destined for stardom wins the Cape Derby but unfortunately we wouldn`t see him again until the end of the year after suffering a training problem ..race replay

Rumbles were getting louder and louder from the Alexander stable that PJ was a champ

February

After going down a nose to Havasha at the end of January PJ was primed and ready to strut his stuff and it was of to Turffontein for the Grade3 Ruffell Stakes race replay
this race win really got PJ cherry ripe for the Gauteng Guineas a few weeks later race replay
PJ looked every bit a champion...on the same day Fisani won the filies race race replay

March

After a quiet start to the month we are all set for the Classics at Turffontein armed with 35 bottles of malt the guys are well stocked and settled down for a great race, and boy did PJ not let the boys in the box down race replay

On same day Bravo`s champion Lizard Desire was narrowly beaten in the worlds richest Horse race the Dubai World Cup.race replay also have to mention that imo Barry Irwins Gitano Hernando was extremely unlucky in the race..2 members with runners in the worlds richest race, what an honour!!!

MAY

So lets Jump forward a month to Derby Day at Turffontein the Hype Surrounding PJ and his Triple Crown attempt was at fever Pitch although it had been soured by the demise of the tidy Julie Alexander (td).

PJ had won the Guineas and the Classic but would he stay the Derby trip? RACE REPLAY

Other highlights on the big day where the COMPUTAFORM SPRINT (Gr1) won by Noble Heir a result that could have seeled her sale to OZ RACE REPLAY

And Goosen landing 1st and 4th place checks in THE FILLIES NURSERY (Grade 2) RACE REPLAY

Lets Build up the JULY,this years race was moved to the 31st to accomodate the World Cup,giving some trainers Logistical problems imo..

June saw some big runs from some big contenders for the July!

Irish Flame fresh from spoiling PJ`S party took on Bold Silvano and Noordhoek Flyer in Greyvilles Daily News 2000 a race which is usually a perfect prep for the July but with nearly 2 months to the big un trainers would have to get another run in before the July RACE REPLAY

A week later Pocket Power,Big City Life and Hotlines Blue Tiger took to the track at Clairwood to fight out the RISING SUN GOLD CHALLENGE. Race Replay

Fast Forward a couple of weeks to the Gold Cup meeting at Greyville Where MDK stole the show RACE REPLAY

Don`t forget the fillies River Jetez who would run a big race in the July winning the Gold Bracelet RACE REPLAY

The begining of July we had the Gold Circle Derby a race that would have a big say on the July RACE REPLAY
