You know what I don't understand, we are in the middle of the holiday season, people are on leave and we have this kuk card.... There is fark all marketing strategy to attract racegoers to the Vaal with this card...

Anyway back to the gigi's, Hibs with little confidence I think Historical Return is the best bet on the card. For the P6 players maybe take a chance and banker Where's My Chop coupling? Ugly Betty in the last the one to beat imo.

Small patent for some interest
Historical Return
Where's My Chop
Ugly Betty

Sea Passage and Ugly Betty - standout bets on a real 'kuk' card (as per gregbucks):)

These "Low Grade" cards are always tough (warning: there's another one next Thursday....), but today I like all of Sacred Light (top bet). Historical Return, Wood Be, Behind The Lines, Top Class, Greek Lover, Spanish Angel, and Ugly Betty (exotics banker). Only race 3 strikes me as a race to run a mile from.

Well, hopefully at least a couple of those will win!(:D

Well Magic, I probably will end up with the proverbial egg on my face, but I think Sea Passage (yes I know she's a filly up against colts) will beat Wood Be into 2nd; she gave Woman of the Year 3.5 kgs and got beat by under a length (and we all know what Women of the Year did on Monday), while Wood Be could not beat Causeway (only 4th in his next start BEHIND 2 FILLIES) and I also prefer Wood Be on the sand.

I believe that Ugly Betty is an even better bet than Sea Passage - she ran a very good race last time in a Novice (out at the weights by quite a few pounds) so should really s*it in today

You could well be right, Frodo! These sorts of meetings are even more prone than most to leaving one with a face full of egg.:D

It is frustrating having to be satisfied with these 'below standard' fields today, but you have to take into account that P has put on meetings on Monday and Tuesday followed by another this coming Saturday and with the current horse population, they need to cater for these 'lesser lights' as well. When Bloem was still around, today's meeting would have been held there - but I would have thought that today's meeting would have fitted in better on Tuesday, and then have the sand meeting (which did at least feature a high MR handicap) today?

Frodo can these days not be shared? surely the pools would stand up to two meetings more than twice a week?

hibs, who knows what the thinking is - assuming there is at least some planning going into programming races and meetings. I also don't see the need for having 2 'lower grade' meetings on consecutive weeks - this is not mid winter - we are probably going to see the same horses from today running next week again.

Well at least it gives me some time to catch up on work - kids driving me crazy at home, so I'm looking forward to a couple of hours of quiet time in the office(tu)

Very difficult card. The three I fancy today are Race 3 Magic Potion, Race 4 Flintoff and Race 8 Dilys Delight.
