Good luck Leon, I for one think that Racing is far behind regarding simple science and far too much regard is placed on the"experienced eye" of the old time horseman - Considering the fact that a watch and a scale are the basic tools in almost every human physical sport it still amazes me how few trainers deem it necesarry to use these simple tools or to keep records of them - Sometimes I think too much training is done with the aid of Vets rather than 'simple' science which could help even to the point where your horse is as fit as it can be and after a few tries still shows zip and you then can retire it gracefully. As a very mediocre athlete in my youth I soon realised that without timing my runs and recording my pulse rate and recovery time I would not be able to gauge my performance and improve etc

Sounds impressive. I especially like the constant feedback and involvement for the owner.
Good luck!

Trainers have been using this equipment in Australia for the past few years and swear by it. They sell a saddle that has the equipment. It is not cheap!
A friend of mine, who was a vet and himself a runner but had never trained horses, took up training full time, was getting nowhere, started using this GPS system and now does quite well, so I know first hand that it works.
Good luck Leon.

Maxed I don't know enough about the system to judge but from an owners perspective - If you have a proven method that can indicate your horse has now reached peak performance and you race it in a Maiden over it's correct distance and it finishes midfield in four-five runs then I'd say you can retire it rather than wasting money because your trainer says it's working well - A 90% fit average runner will not beat a 40% olympic athlete - i hope i'm being clear here as it is difficult to explain - this system, if used correctly, could help owners eliminate bad stock - this is really the point i'm trying to make -
