He'll have more before long. It will be a miracle if we race this weekend, and even next Tuesday at Greyville is starting to look very dodgy indeed.

(I believe that a move from Clairwood to Scottsville on Sunday could be on the cards, but a decision won't be taken until Friday or even Saturday. I stress, could be.)

What Phumelela do not realise is that if you continue to neglect simple things like basic track management and drainage etc the Punter will find something else to spend his cash on and it won't be Italian/french/Uk racing - I have watched punters leave venues when racing is abandoned - sure some do then play but many only play local racing as they feel they have more chance at winning- It is shortsighted to presume that all Punters are in fact mindless gambling addicts that can't wait to have a bet on two snails crossing the N1 - They use the Computaform express now as it is more affordable and contrary to the views of Phumelela won't just hurl all their hard-earned cash on races where they have no idea who the Jockey's are let alone the horses. Strategic investment is needed to build an all weather track in each racing jurisdiction - Shareholders should see this as a long term investment and expect no dividends for the next few years - Will it happen? I doubt it.Rather try to get Esikimo Seal Racing introduced - It's cheap and the Punters will love it just like they rush to TAB outlets every morning to watch the circus of Chariot Racing and the great Ngong on weekends. Just because you love soccer does not mean you will rush down to your local Junior School to see the U12f team take on their bitter rivals from the Girls Catholic League because the Chiefs/Pirates match has been abandoned because of a few drops of rain - I do realise that rain can and will cause problems but many many meetings could be saved if drainage and track surfaces were adapted

They used to have an "all weather" racing track at montecasino a few years ago
The dome-like contraption hosted an 8-horse race (with even pink and yellow animals), and seated approx10 people
..used to enjoy having a beer & some grub while punting my last pennies - but was probably removed due to taking up too much space and not being a money-spinner
