International race - any details?

I don't see it mentioned anywhere yet.

Does anyone have any details about the international race for next year that Gary Player spoke about after the Queens' Plate?

Does it mean that something has been sorted out regarding AHS? Are foreign trainers going to be able to bring their horses here and not have them sitting in quarantine to take them home again?

Typical racing operators crap.
Where's the press release announcing the big event?
Absolute amateurs when it comes to promoting the cause.

You know, it would be such a small thing if it happens to be true that it's not worth the operator's while to tell anybody about it.8-)

Or so it seems.

Get ready for all the big names from Zimbabwe and Kenya to arrive. Also heard Haras Karatis has been booked to ride the Turkish champion and something coming from Italy as well ( will be stabled at Marshall and Lattore will ride) . All part of Phumelela's international boquet.

Lattore's not Italian, by the way.;) But if the Italians come up with another horse like Falbrav I reckon even I might have a wee touch....

I saw Lattore this afternoon in the Paddocks Shopping centre by the Milnerton training centre. One of the smallest framed jockeys I have ever seen. What nationality is he ?

Just thinking aloud. Is this the reason why our local stakes were reduced?

The accumulation of the reduction of stakes will make a tidy sum to leave our shores.

He's from one of the South American countries, I forget which. I also used to think he was Italian (he may have ridden in Italy) but when we did a Personality of the Week profile on him a couple of years ago he set the record straight.

East - I am pretty certain that the Rupert's will be funding the prize money.

According to Barry Irwin, in the Ebony Flyer thread, the Queens Plate will be a US$2m race next year.
