I would even put PE up there.......just because gauteng really does not have their acts together right now.

Why this 7 race program I don't know. Perhaps somebody could let us know why?

Perhaps there is a perfectly logical reason for this but we don't get told though.

Shitty sprint race card with mostly hard races on a muddy track........Not sure I'm too keen

Would rather wait for Meydan on Thursday?

OK - If they race , the double could be Captains Key onto Paramo

East,

Count Express is very well weighted in that contest. The only issue for me is the addition of blinkers to his equipment. Still I think he should be too good. Captains Key is a runner however.

What do you guys think of the betting in the feature?

Pimpinella favourite?

I know Waywest Goddess is carrying a lot of weight but sprinters can carry weight?

Betting is a little lobsided for my liking.

opinions?

This '7 race program thing' is really daft imo; but I suppose it shows the lack of foresight/planning that went into this.

Turffies is located in a residential suburb, so the residents in the surrounding area need to be taken into consideration - so you can't race late into the night. You ideally also do not want to start too early - this is 'night racing' - the sun sets in summer at around 7 pm so it does not make sense to start at 3 and then have only the last 2 or 3 under lights - sort of defeats the object. And they would really like the Yanks to bet on these races during their afternoon - so it is sort of a Catch 22

Imo, Turffies is the wrong location to have night racing (too many negatives) and the money would have been more wisely spend on either helping to pay to set up an alternative night racing venue or putting in an all-weather/synthetic track (either at Turffontein or an alternative venue)

But that's just me.

Just got a message from the RA. Racing tonight goes ahead after 10.9 mls of rain in the last 24 hours. but "further significant rain would put the meeting in jeopardy."
