Vaal - Thursday
14 years 4 months ago
Not sure what the weather is doing in Jozi but I hope they run?
For me it is quite a hard card.
the obvious one is Storm Crossing but I'm a little suspect of him over the mile. Still he should be right there as he is weighted to win. I think Sayadaw will make him run!
Best bet (and only bet) for me is Captain Winter
Happy punting!

Looked at the first 3 races so far Tombo....
Race 1 - Do it my way 9/10:
... mad price imo, I reckon Merlion and Milkwood Manor could fight this out.
Race 2 - 2 horses I've picked out making there SAND debut, Geisha Garden and African Sunset.
Race 3 - Tough opening to the p6 but what about this Byron as a lurker, by Anytime he may appreciate the surface?

Greg, you and me both on exactly the same two in the opening event. I think Merlion will love the surface and Milkwood Manor will improve. No 9/10 for me........Not even 18/10 to be honest.
Race 2 you gotta stay as far away from as possible.....All I can say is. All the best RAD!!!
if you had to choose between prime mover and bownore in the 6th, which one would you go with?

Vaal Sand Mdns
R1 – Do it my Way clearly the one on figures and with a very favourable draw, yet evens is tight for one good run on the sand, however hard to oppose in the win box. Like The Western at 14/1 to run in the first 3. Can expect improvement form Milkwood Manor. Will be interested in 13+14 in quartets if they get a run.
R2 – Search for the least slow may not be a winning strategy. Rose for Rossini did well lto from a favourable draw (was it the draw or ability), at 7/1 is interesting. Only other interest is with Geisha Garden following recent run.
R3 – Victory Serenade is the most consistent maiden on sand. Good figures, when beaten by good horses (who have subsequently progressed) make him a standout in any maiden event. Can he do 1450m and more importantly can his running style overcome his apparent poor draw ?
Captain Winter has some appeal, especially from draw 1 whilst Spectaboolous is an obvious contender on past sand form. (Yes, Byron will be incl. in my quartets - due to his favourable draw).

Delightful Diva has won ON TURF off 81.....and her last run,on sand I estimate to be a 70+......if she reproduces, she is handicapped a "good thing" off a 63 ,IMO.
Speedy Amanda a small danger based on both horses collaterals with"Gold Essence"

Hey guys
Race1: 2 Do It My Way and Milkwood Manor should fight it out.
Race2: Flight of Angels holds Rajinzky on the First to Finish run. 6/1 on offer on Interbet. Geisha Garden ran a good 3rd the other day and is the danger imo.
Race3: Captain Winter is my 1st choice with Pimp my Ride the danger
Race4: Storm Crossing is a good thing imo. I'm not worried about the distance.
Race5: 1,3,4,and 11 have it amongst themselves.
Race6: Shaunie Boy is the best bet imo. Sermon franked the form. Draw1, Striker up. I can't see him losing.
Race7: Delightful Diva is weighted to win. Banker the 14scr in the p6.
Race8: Wide open. My narrow 1st choice is Bermuda Triangle. Go as wide as you can.
Play well.
