Barry I'm sure Pirates was just being facetious.

Obviously if there were no horses doing well from public auctions no one would buy them.

I don't take everything everyone says on this site too seriously. Some guys are obviously heavily involved in the industry like yourself, magic, hotline etc so you have more insight than us guys who shout from the sidelines. I just read the posts that I find informative or entertaining and try disregard the nonsense.

Its not only at ABC where you will find a small group doomsdayers, naysayers and the bitter. You'll see them in every day life. This forum is just an indication of the type you'll find in any cross section of people in most walks of life.

I would say us ABC punters are quite a positive lot, given the hiding we've got from the game over the years!

gee barry you are extremely sensitive to a mere observation of mine which i have plenty examples..i am in no way saying that breeders hold back their best stock on purpose but it seems that plenty group horses are home breds for whatever reason..but just for your information lammerskraal clearly stated on television a few weeks ago that they held back from the sales in their opinion 3 of their best colts in solo traveller and another that has won 3 in a row for mdk...phone them up if you dont believe me..any way what people do is their prerogative it really is no skin off my back..just to let you know the person who said that a lot of the best horses are never up for sale is an extremely wealthy and successful person living in australia and comes from a highly successful racing family...your charade on your post is laughable

Top Seller went to the National Yearling Sale but didn't reach his reserve, which according to what I scribbled in my catalogue was R280 000. Of course a lot of good horses are home-bred, especially when they are bred by essentially non-commercial breeders like Mrs O or, internationally, the Aga Khan or the Maktoums. However, it is nonsense to say that the best horses usually don't go to the sales, especially in SA.

I need to take a breather from ABC, because I really don't need to read b. s. from the Pirates of this world.

To be fair, how many times must Pirates repeat that it was just an observation?

Thanks Greg, looks a pretty interesting card. It's amazing how much easier it is to look at these cards when you know you won't be having a bet ;)
