Rushing Wind not sure to stay the trip imo.

Sean Veal, mmmm...... has improved a lot recently, but obviously not in the same league as the Marcus's of this world - still 'all' the jock (whoever it is going to be) needs to do is to get a decent jump, and slot in behind Mother Russia and follow her through - 12/1 a good price imo

And does the fact that the ride is still up for grabs mean that one of the senior riders in the race could be trying to get off his mount and onto ToB?

I wonder if Shezi could be persuaded to make a flying visit from Dubai for ToB. He did when he rode Dancer's Daughter a couple of years ago. Greg Cheyne would be nice, but of course it's the Hong Kong season now and it will be hard to get a guy from there. (Not like the July, which is run during the HK closed season).

Anyone looked at the juvenile race ? Stable a bit cold - but unless I'm missing something doesn't Princess Victoria look a blinder ? Six lengths clear of the third horse in fast time and the winner won its next start easy giving weight.

hiya

The stable to be with is the Snaiths.
In the past they had 4/5 winners on Met day. This year is significantly different in tht they have strong chances in all the feature races.

Agreed Doyen...the Snaith boys will be strutting their stuff as usual and they usually try to be out of the blocks very early and opening few races is likely to be where they will try to make an impact again.
Maybe Jonno will pop onto the ABC forum like he did 2 years ago and give us a few pointers???
Have to say though that there's plenty of competition for them this year but the Snaith's is great for racing and it's always a pleasure to listen to Justin talking about his horses with refreshing honesty...he's never far off but he has covered his dial with an omelette or two - all part of the fun though and I wish them well on the day.

IMO Fort Vogue represents big value and is a great place bet!!
I know that collateral form does not point him to the placings, BUT, this horse has massive potential and I think his last 3 starts have not gone his way. In the Green Point he was cramped and in obvious need of the run. In the Premiers he raced wide and was not given the most vigorous ride I have ever seen. He carried 60kg that day and was only beaten 1,75 lengths into 5th, hanging in in the closing stages. His last start was a little concerning, BUT they all seemed to make a B line for the outside rail. Fort travelled with a double handful going through the 250m mark under Bernie and then lacked a finish? (the concern) My thinking for the Met is that Neisius will ride him in similar fashion to last years race. Sit handy, turn for hom and hug the inside rail. He seems to lug towards that way in running and Karl will know this. He can challenge for top honours IMO and a place bet is great value.
