Best Bet for the Day.
Please post your best bet of the day to win on this thread. That is one horse in one race to win only, no more. If you tip more than one horse, all your tips will be ignored. For all other types of bets and exotics please use the other daily thread. I will keep a leader board as I did in the last for fun competition as I did last year. Please make sure that your best bets are posted earlier than 10 minutes before the first race is run, any tipping posts after that will be ignored. Please make sure your tip is clear and easy to read, for example:-
Race 8 POCKET POWER. # 1
It is most important to put the race number and the horse's number in your selection, this makes it much easier for me to enter into the spreadsheet.
Points will be given as follows, Hollywood Bets SP for winners and minus one for losers.
Your goal is to try and show a positive points balance over the long term.
Here are some tips that might work,
i) You don't have to post a selection everyday, so if it is a tough card, just sit out for the day.
ii) Look for value, ie it is better to select a 5/1 shot that comes in every three races than a 5/10 that wins half the time.
If you have any other advice for novice punters, let me know and I'll add them to this list.
