I should have been a bit more clear, when I mentioned the parade ring I meant the viewing area not the actual inner circle. I know that Greyville is geared to attract large crowds and the balconies are also used to view. Without having seen Kenilworth's parade ring I can only guess that it differs greatly from Greyville?
I am looking forward to next year and have asked the wife to start making plans with family in the Cape. WIfe is in the hospitality btrade so the Queens Plate will probably not happen for me.

For Met day they run on the new course so the public can go right up to the rail ...plenty viewing area for the parade ring from various balconies....more then enough place to get a looksee at the horses.Still the most beautiful course for me....

On the beauty stakes, Durban can never get close to Cape Town and I would guess it follows that the tracks are the same.
I think the question really, was the viewing areas around the parade ring as packed as July day? Fromthe footage we got to see it did not seem so.

HOTLINE its a lovely course with the mountain in the backdrop...i went to about 6 metings last december and i thoroughly enjoyed it..well done for yesterday and many more in 2011
