Well done to Rod, who tipped the P6 (R84 000 for an outlay of R1 944) as well as the JP (R9 600 for an outlay of R1 080) on Saturday at Tuffontein - must have been quite a tense moment when Magic Penny (not included) looked to have race 8 in the bag 100m out, but thankfully (from Rod's point of view) Marcus go that little extra from Rapd Flow to get up on the line - when it's your day, I suppose, it is , well ... your day (tu)

Never follow tipsters, Scotia, (prefer to do my money on my own selections) but of course when something like this happens, the temptation is there to change one's tactics - no disrespect to Rod, but the nature of his job (to make selections a week or more in advance when neither the 'final' fields - due to late scratchings - or the going is known), it is unlikely that he could repeat this feat in the next 6 months.

Sorry Frodo, thought he had tipped on Tellytrack day of the race, must say I have no idea how these these guys make early selections on paper publications days before the event, I stuggle to pick the winner with the canter past/latest betting etc

2cents was on USO on Saturday morning - unfortunately I believe his selections (except for Sacred Feminine in the 5th) were as unsuccessful as mine

I remember a few years ago Rod tipped all 10 winners on the turfontein card on Under Starters Orders! The bookies decided from that point on they would suspend betting on saturday mornings until Under Starters Orders had finished so they could adjust their prices accordingly.
