Was one of the big meetings not abandoned last year?

It was postponed twice and eventually run on the next Saturday. That was Champions Day. I was in Jozi for the sales when the meeting was rained out and, believe me, even Cheltenham would have been hard pressed to stage racing it was so freaking wet.

Clouding over again; 'scattered showers' predicted - I doubt they will finish the meeting. Hopefully (from my selfish point of view) they will at least run the first where we have Star Rating; acccording to the stable (and reflected by the betting) he is 'not quite at his best yet' but should 'finish in the money'. Personally I think the favorite is moderate and can be beaten - and hopefully by Star Rating; some other thoughts:
R2: Delago Delux for me - won very well first time out beating Fort William easily who is highly thought of by the stable
R3: Open contest; weight usually plays a big part in juvenile races; so I like Kinematic Countess and Extraordinaire to reverse the form with Variometer, while Verbatim now sports blinkers so could suprise of a low weight
R4: Tough contest; I think Stella Mia is good each way value at the price
R5: Not much to choose between the top 3 but Shea Shea could be the right one; inlcude Crissy Sanchex (she is receiving loads of weight) in trifecta's and quartets
R6: Another open contest imo; Kavanaugh yet to win over 1600, so no value imo; Tales of Bravery the class horse and could go close if has settled in on the Highveld and I also like Regal Ransom at big odds
R7: Igugu from Hollywoodboulevard - what else?
R8: I think Galileo's Destiny is the right one over the trip, Link Man and Perana the only dangers imo
R9: Should we get here. include a few; my preference is for Winning Leap although the stable is really out of form.
Play well
