Scotia on the Aintree Festival

Good afternoon to the Clan, I did talk about the flat season last week but before we go there we have a little matter of the next few days at Aintree.

We should be in for a feast of racing before the big one on Sat. and on the subject of big, I am sure we can all have a decent bet on Cheltenham star Big Bucks 6/10 (Note! as short as 16/10 to win a 4th World Hurdle). and looks ready to win the Liverpool Hurdle on Thursday 7th, the Anniversary should go to the well bred Zarkandar 1/1 (yes Zarkava! family) and Denman 1/1 can get back to winning ways lifting the Totesport Bowl.

Friday where Albertas Run 5/2 can win the Melling Chase.

On the big day should be a great clash in the Aintree Hurdle between Binocular 22/10 and Peddlers Cross 14/10 and the big one could be a pin job but plenty info on the site, maybe McCoy can Push it again? I will stick with Tidal Bay 40/1 ew

For the Man Utd fans maybe consider Sir Alex horse What a Friend at 14/1 atc the EPL at 1/4, the Cup 13/10 and Champions 8/1, should give you around 400/1.

On the subject of football some great games this week in the Champions League Real very impressive Barcelona 1/4 should be a bet tonight, check the options rather than a straight bet, maybe half time/full time 7/10.
Barcelona 14/10 still hot, Real have shortened to 3/1, Chelsea 11/2, Man Utd 8/1, and "18/1 Schalke" might be worth a bet?

Shalke destroy Inter 5-2 in Milan

EPL could be done and dusted but the relegation fight is still in the balance, Wigan and Blackpool could be doomed? but any one of 5 could follow them, plenty serious betting at the bottom.

Plenty posts on the sales and maybe a few syndicates will be formed and a few bargains will be found?.......Syndicate offer

Inside Racing/Legends of the Turf from James and Aidan Lithgow continues to be a hit with viewers and Elevation was "gripping stuff" look forward to next week?

Must mention Winning Ways the 3 to follow "Up Front" you have to watch the show.

American pop idols still a hot topic with our music fundis.where Pia 7/2 is the complete package..........American idols

Look forward to racing at the big T next Tuesday and the nominations are out for Champions Day...........Champions Day entries

Crusaders 12/10 still strong for the rugby the Stormers 6/1 our best chance and Bulls 9/1 make a come back, couple of good games this weekend.

Mickelson looks in good form

Masters golf also starts shortly (13-45, Thursday SA) where Mickelson 7/1 fav, but will stick with Tiger 12/1 who has stopped playing around at night and if Westwood 16/1 has put his flying scare behind him could also be there at the death.

Greyhound racing the English Derby where Droopys "Greg" and Droopys "Oscar" should be popular with the Clan.

As expected the Afrikaans pub was dead the other day with Neil Diamond in town and sorry about last weeks mail where I said Garth Brooks would be at the Big T, its Garth Taylor, that was my contribution to get people racing.

Back to the pub, the manager thought with Neil in town he would invite a computer expert to help educate the remaining Boers with on-line gambling but got some strange replies to his questionnaire, here were some of the replies.

Very clever Dave, made me laugh. Big weekend ahead, by the way you forgot about the IPL cricket starting Friday. :)

Follow Mickelson all the way to the bank, 7/1 is a great price. Have a few Top 5 or 6, depending on bookie, on Ishikawa at 50/1, he will win a major sooner rather than later, if you are brave take some of the 250/1 for a win.

For the National take the 14/1 on offer on Ballabriggs. Don't leave out 25/1 outsider State Of Play for some places.

Hi Dave,

More importantly did you see who is running in race 6 on Saturday at Scottsville? Only 6 other horses in the race for you to
back to help our boy win!
Cheers
Craig

Woods would have to be a 100/1 for me to back him,not just his loss of form but when he was so dominant he hit the ball 20 yards further than anyone else, now these guys are hitting the ball way past him..

Good morning that put a smile on my face and we would have no problem in getting people racing if we had punters walking about dressed like that cheeky we lass ;)

Its going to be hard to win "Big Bucks" today now that Master Minded is taking on Albertas Run.

No bets today.
