Its the 9th race and due off at 10:40 HK time - that makes it 10:40 SA time (6 hours diffs). Holding thumbs and crossing fingers for Musir ... but at the same time I think River Jetez is de Kock's best hope of a big win away. What do you think ... can Musir do it? He does have Soumillon up.

Good effort in his first run on grass for nearly two years.

Just a shame they crawled the first half of the race. How many times have we seen in these big races the front runners going slowly giving the closers no chance, makes one think that there should be a few pace makers thrown in to enable a true run race.
Good run by Musir, I might have been seeing things but did Soumillon drop his whip in the straight?

Saksey, he did drop his whip, was smacking away at Musir with his hand at the finish, much to the amusement of the after-race commentators. That said, Musir was still gaining on all but the winner. Soumillon can get more from his horse with hands and heels than many jocks with whips.

A faster pace would have suited others in the race more than Musir imo Greg
