The 160th Anniversary of The Royal Show takes place this year and an interesting ten days are promised to the public. Gold Circle (one of South Africa’s two Horseracing Operators) has been invited to take part and will add some exciting spice to the event.

“In addition to our exhibit which will take on a ‘Careers in Racing’ theme, Gold Circle in conjunction with Racing South Africa, Harness Racing South Africa and the South African Jockey Academy will put on two exciting races for show goers on Friday evening, 3 June 2011” said Jason Dedekind, Gold Circle – KZN Racing Chapter Manager. “The public will stand a chance to win fabulous prizes which include vouchers and a day at the races.”

In attendance on that evening will be iconic South African sportsman and internationally renowned jockey, Michael ‘Muis’ Roberts who will take part in a panel discussion on the Daily News 2000 race the following day. Accompanying Michael will be well known racing television personalities Deez Dayanand and Sheldon Peters as well as Gold Circle’s Publishing Manager and racing expert, Andrew Harrison.

“We at Gold Circle are proud to be associated with The Royal Show and look forward to enhancing the public’s knowledge and interest in our great industry” said Dedekind.

The Royal Show takes place at the Show grounds in Pietermaritzburg from 27 May to 05 June 2011 and is a ‘must attend’ on everyone’s calendar.
