I would be surprised if Manu finish the match with 11 men.

That is worth a bet. Price would be short , I guess.

If you go look on YouTube at the replays there was 2 critical mistakes the officials made, firstly Pepe SHOULD NOT OF BEEN SENT OFF, Alvis actually kicks Pepe's foot with his follow through.... 2ndly, Victor Veldes should of been sent off at half time, he blatantly was involved in the ''fight'' at the entrance to the tunnel... Go look and you will see he raises his hands and has a swipe at one of the Reals staff members.

You have to look at last nights game in terms of 3 el clasico games. There was plenty of bullshit in the other 2 games. The difference is how the ref controlled the games

Lol!!. Gregbucks you must have been watching it in super super slow mo to have noticed something like that. If this isn't an automatic red card I've never seem one. youtube

The RM player clearly lunges at the Barca player who was lucky to escape without a broken leg.

Here is the fifa law:

Serious foul play

A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive force or brutality
against an opponent when challenging for the ball when it is in play.
A tackle that endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as
serious foul play.
Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the
front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force
and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.
Advantage should not be applied in situations involving serious foul play unless
there is a clear subsequent opportunity to score a goal. The referee must send
off the player guilty of serious foul play when the ball is next out of play.
A player who is guilty of serious foul play should be sent off and play is
restarted with a direct free kick from the position where the offence occurred
(see Law 13 – Position of free kick) or a penalty kick (if the offence occurred
inside the offender’s penalty area).

Here's another video from a Real Madrid website I believe that appears to show that Pepe doesn't touch Alves. video However, all it proves is that Pepe made a tackle that endangered his opponent. In fact it was more a karate kick than a tackle. The law says red card. If Alves had left his leg there I would have hated to see the result. It could have been a career ender.

Tipster

As I said, Mouriniho would be protesting and now they are. Real are protesting about the shocking behaviour of the Barce players. People are sick and tired of the of the preferential treatment that Barce receive. If you just look back on this season and you will see how many players have been sent off whilst playing against them and how many times Barce players have stayed on the field when they should have gone. In the match against Arsenal for example Van Piersie was sent off when he "kicked" the ball away when flagged for off side. The ref blew his whistle and within a second Van Piersie shot at goal. The ref deemed that he had kicked the ball away. At the time the score was 1-1 and Arsenal were ahead in the tie 3-2. That changed the match. Then in the league match against against Real a Real player was sent off for nothing as in the semis. I never dreamt I would ever say this but if its indeed a United v Barce final there is only one team that I want to win, and its not the team from Spain.

C&C, Barca's behaviour was shocking but it didn't lead to any game changing decision. The ref also missed the RM player stomping on a Barca player. The only significant decision was the correct red card.

The ref made a poor decision vs Arsenal but that's not Barca's fault and, interestingly, you didn't see Barca behaving like this against any non-Mourinho teams. I wonder why? Maybe they knew other teams wouldn't attempt to kick them off the park.

Poor Jose's massive ego has been dented. His tactics and team selections on the night were proven abysmal and he's trying to avert the blame. His behaviour isn't appalling, it's embarrassing and he's making a serious fool of himself.

I still fail to see how that was a red card (I don't support either of these sides) Alvis made a meal of the challenge and the Barca players harassed the ref into sending Pepe off imo... And I disagree with you tipster, it had a massive affect on the outcome of the game, you see Pepe was ''shadowing'' Messi and once he was sent off Messi had free reign over the whole pitch, eventually scoring both the goals (2nd goal was world class)... Nevertheless we can all have our views but it isn't going to change the result...:)

Barca has the "win at all costs" mentality.. even if it means to resort to cheating, intimidation of the ref, diving, faking injuries etc.... WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO FAIR PLAY?

but all the above will be meaningless when MANCHESTER UNITED whip them fair n square in the final... thats if they beat RM in the second leg.

Interesting article CNC, as a United fan I don't think ''The Chosen One'' will suit the dynamics of the club, hope he isn't on his way to OT...
