Answer could only be 9 if it read like this:
(6 ÷ 2) * (1 + 2) = 9
However since it reads like:
6÷2(1+2) = ?
There is only one answer = 1
6 / [2x3], therefore 6/6 = 1
It's a mathematical certainty
(6 ÷ 2) * (1 + 2) = 9
However since it reads like:
6÷2(1+2) = ?
There is only one answer = 1
6 / [2x3], therefore 6/6 = 1
It's a mathematical certainty

I don't think the "*" has anything to do with it; another way to write it would be 6/2(1+2) and imo the correct answer is 1

Same would apply without the *
(6 ÷ 2) (1 + 2) = 9
However in the case provided the answer can ONLY be 1

I read the divide sign as a plus which probably means I need to go for an eye test as well as a colonscopy
Answer with the + sign being replaced by a sign that does not appear on my keyboard is 1
