The answer is 1
Brackets first(1+2)
...then.....2x3=6
6 divided by 6= 1
(I'm guessing that the other answer is 9..ie 6 divided by 2=3....then 3x3=9)
Hibs is there a "correct" answer or is it one of those debates that rage on forever.....lol

6÷2(1+2) {Solve the parenthetical term}
=6÷2(3) {Division first}
(3) {Multiplication}
=9
=6÷2(3) {Division first}

=9

I'm with Rob's original post. Multiplication before division. Solve the bracket, multiply and divide.
I would say the answer is 9 (that was my first answer), but the problem is obvious and the other option is 1........
We may need a ruling from the NHA here

GB this is only for you.....
One goes from left to right. Parenthetical terms are solved first. Then, division, because it's first when coming from left to right. Afterwards, the remaining term is multiplied.
A way to change the answer would be to change the placement of the parenthesis. In the way it was presented, the answer could only be 9....
PS...GB are you going to Turffies on Saturday?????
