Interbet Best Tipster in South Africa Competition - May Edition.

READ THE RULES, THEY WILL BE FOLLOWED STRICTLY

Rules.
1. All players start with an opening balance of 100 points. You may not bet more than your current balance on a single race. If you try to do this, your bet will be ignored. If there are two or more meetings on a day, you can only tip on one. There is no minimum bet limit, so you can bet as little as you want, if you want to be cautious.
2. If you lose all your points, you will be eliminated from the competition.
3. You MUST put the following in your post!!!!!

i) Race number that your selection is running
ii) Horse number, if you do not put the horse number your selection will be ignored.
iii) Type of bet, win or place. No others will be accepted. If you do not say what type, a win bet is assumed.
iv) The amount of points you are willing to wager on your bet.
v) If there is more than one meeting on the day, you must put for which meeting it is.
vi) An example will look like this....R2 # 5 place 10pts bet Flamingo
4. You will get points as follows... -1 multiplied by your bet size for all losing selections. The tote payout -1 multiplied by your bet size for winning selections.
5. If your horse is scratched, your selection will be ignored.
6. Selections are to be posted no later than 5 minutes before the first race starts on the meeting you want to play.
7. You may only edit your selections BEFORE the cut-off time. This is useful if your first selection has been scratched early and you’d like to make another one.
8. If you edit your selection AFTER the cut-off time, you will get negative points even if your selection wins. So don’t do it.
9. If you place more than one selection per day, all of them will be ignored.
10. Players will be sorted by points balance, then strike rate, then number of bets.
11. No new entries will be accepted after May the 7th. This means that you must post your first selection for the month, on or before the 7th.

Your personal goal/ challenge should be to show a profit (a balance of higher than 100points) by the end of May. Should you do this you will become a star rated tipster in next month’s competition. For a top three finish, you will get two stars. Star rated tipsters will lose a star if they are unprofitable this month or do not participate.

Just a reminder of what we are playing for...

1st Place R950 cash + R1000 Interbet Betting Voucher
2nd Place R800 cash + R500 Interbet Betting Voucher
3rd Place R400 cash + R250 Interbet Betting Voucher

There is a special R250 cash prize for the unluckiest tipster. That will be the tipster with the most selections that ran one out of the money. I.e. Horse running 2nd on win bets and 4th on most place bets.
Star Rated tipsters will win additional bonus cash for their consistency. R300 additional cash if they win the competition, R200 additional cash for coming second and R100 for coming third. Unclaimed bonus money will be carried forward to the following month’s competition. There is currently R1000 bonus in the kitty to the first tipster who becomes a six star rated tipster.
