Hi Dave

Fields for the two international races being run on 22 May. All jockeys have been declared with the exception of the mare, New Rose Wood so an exciting day's racing ahead.

Looking forward to having a contingent of South African owners and supporters here next week.

Regards
Debbie

I'm sure Hughsie is on the horse. They chop and change like anything on that poor horse. Why change a winning combination I wonder?

Anyway, still should be a good race with River Jetez and perhaps even Gitano coming into his own now?

Hi Dave

Your cut and paste skills are perfect. Richard Hughes is definitely on board Presvis as Ryan Moore has another engagement.

Just having a look at the postings which I enjoy, Singapore does not have a closed season - with the exception of two weekends a year - one being directly after the Singapore International Racing Festival to give the staff a break and a weekend over Christmas to allow the expats to go home we race all year round. This year we have a total of 95 meetings scheduled so plenty of racing. Friday nights we have a 9 or 10 race programme and on a Sunday we have 11 or 12 races carded so the tracks have their fair share of traffic and stand up regardless. A tribute to the track management team for sure.

Regards
Deb

The coverage of racing in our Chinese media is extensive and 'The Newpaper' provides all the information required covering barrier trials, fields etc. Our racecard also shows the work that the horses have done in the weeks prior to the race and obviously all barrier trials are shown live on our television channel and are also available on the website. Barrier trials (held on Tuesday and Thursday) are open to all. In terms of looking after the punters, you may want to look at this link which will give you an idea of what the Off Course Betting Centres are like (we have 17 of them in Singapore)

www.turfclub.com.sg
Go to the link Totalisator/betting/betting centres

Our website also gives a comprehensive overview of the facilities at the Singapore Turf Club itself. We have a show called 'Track Talk' which is held prior to every meeting where our on-course presenters and commentators go through the fields and discuss the runners. Previous runs and track work is shown and this is very detailed. They do not however have any pre-race interviews with either trainers or jockeys.

Hope this gives you a better idea of the infrastructure in Singapore.

Debbie

I had a look, those betting facilities are awesome, could you forward these pics to Phumelela so they can see what ''customer service'' should be like...
