East Cape Derby Objection

My opinion is it was a shocking decision there was no way Vengence was ever going to come back to beat Lorenzo Marques once he had swept past him and in my opinion the result was reversed only because of the connections of the second horse and not because of the interference . Had both horses kept straight there is no doubt that the winning distance would have been greater than it was .

I must agree with you 100%......the second time LM ducked short of the line was because he got spooked by the photographers camera that was sticking out under the railing on to the track.....the stopes seemed to have really got this result wrong!

I've got to disagree with both you guys.. i reckon there was interference TWICE, 1st shifted across badly, then back again onto the horse, just short of the line.
Vengence WAS coming back after all of this...... in spite of checking badly 1st time.. just my opinion...... never nice to win a GR race like this however.

Have to agree with Harry H. LM went past the favourite easily. How the stipes could have been convinced that Vengence had it not been for the interference would have won is beyond me. Why Telecrap could not have got an interview post race with the stipes is typical of the second rate service they offer. The stipes in this country are as consistent as the Pakistan cricket team who not only blow hot and cold on the cricket field but are crook most of the time too !

another shocking decision from the stipes after that one with il sanpietra...as long as i have a hole in my aas ramsdens horse would never have beaten snaiths horse,,,it seems that they do not understand their own rules...vengeance was going nowhere..

My horse Masterpiece had to check badly and that was his race over. It is sad that two events this week spoilt two Graded races. That's racing and we live to fight another day.

I had a big bet running onto vengence!the other horse did take up his running but i thought it was 50 /50 whether he would come back to beat him!
And as far as i know the stipes shoud be 100% sure that if there was no interference vengence would have won!so for me it was shocking
to see the result changed!

I feel the rule is wrong but we have to abide by the rules of racing and the rule states
69.3.1 A placed horse was inteferred with by another placed horse and/or its rider during a race and the horse which was interfered with would, but for the interference have finished ahead of the horse which caused the interference.
We have difference of opinions amongst the posters so the rule becomes very open to personal opinions and no scientific facts. To say one horse would definetly have beaten another horse but for the interference is a personal opinion and that is why we get such inconsistencies in objection because we have different peoples opinions in every objection. Who can say with absolute certainty but for the interference on friday wether Link Man would have won or not.
Have a look at the last race on Saturday if Swift Lady was interfered with at the 200 metre mark the majority of people would have said it couldnt have won anyway( i would have laid 20/1 at the 200 metre mark if we did in running betting as it appeared to be going nowhere) but it got up going away.
I challenge any person to stop a race at the 200 metre mark and watch it from as many angles as they want to and as many times as they want to and then get the first five past the post correct. Many times a horse looks like it is cantering and then falls into a hole and other times a horse looks like it is battling and then takes off or rallies when another horse runs alongside it.
One only has to listen to commentaries to hear how often professional race callers get the wrong impression as to what is going to win.(and once again it is only their opinion at the time as to what is going to win)
Having said all the above i feel the interferece suffered was definetly not enough to reverse the result and the inconsistencies are chasing more and more people out of racing as objections are becoming like lotteries.

Good if u can get replay? but I guess a jockey has to stab another during the race in the UK to change a result, does it ever happen over the jumps?
