The Jockey championship is a farce really.
Many of the recent champions merely made the decision to travel more than their rivals,and in each case they took the title.
This race is already decided....Delpech is obviously prepared to ride anywhere to get the title.
In my book,Marcus is,and will continue to be,the champ,regardless of the official result.,as his strike rate is 27,73% as opposed to 20.23% for Delpech which is a better measure of ability for me.
How about a change to that criteria,subject to a minimum no. of rides to qualify(perhaps 500...Nesius has only had 600 rides to date)?
If,for instance a jock was injured or suspended in the last month,the strike rate already achieved,could still result in the title.Surely much fairer?

Delpech cruising in PE for Gavin Smith. Delpech scores this time by riding four winners. PE pays off for the current leader. Marcus has now got some catching up to do as the lead for Delpech goes up to six

Ya could see Ant going for this title all out..Good for him!!..

It seems to me that going to PE and taking over the stable elects from Kennedy,(who has ridden all year for the stable)just to manipulate the title just makes that title cheap and meaningless.
Only 6 ahead with >250 more rides
I wonder who will buy it next year?
