I think Bejewelled Spring was a sister to Grade 1 2yo winner Blossoming Fields.

Blossoming Fields is the 1 I was thinking of. Thought Bejewelled Spring was Blossoming Fields' dam, but they could be brother and sister. Naresh can you then remember the name of their dam?

If my memory is correct then the dam is Leaf Spring. I remember Blossoming Fields running third on July Day in the 2yo race from a terrible draw.

Here are some of my favourite dams of the 90's. Does any of these ring a bell Tommy. Special Felice, Star Drums, First Lisa, Volga, Pillowtalk, Maksha, Saffron, Disy, Joyfields and Petrava.

Let me see if I remember some of the offspring

Star Drums = Drum Star?
First Lisa = Dollar Fortune?
Disy was by Vervain....argentinian dam. Can't remember the offspring.
Joyfields = Circle of Life? (I know she was by northfields but I guess that doesn't take a brain mechanic to figure out ;)
Volga = must have been a horse that won over 2 miles???

Can't exactly remember the other offspring but i remember the names.

Pillowtalk was trained by Johnnie Nicholson not? (Sprinter I think?)

Some of those names brings back great memories!!! Thanks Naresh!
Vladimir was a beast of a horse with a stride twice the size of anything next to him.

Basic Instinct was the horse trained by Jonnie Nicholson. A horse we owned beat him once or twice I think.

Vladimir ran 3rd in the KZN derby in 1995 to Tickets and Tax who ran 4th in the July and 2nd in the Gold Cup that year. That crop of 3yo's was the best I have seen in my life time which includes Amberpondo, Bushmanland, Dancing Danzig, La Fabulous, National Emblem, Shephards Moon, Special Preview, Teal, Travel North, Western Rocket, etc
