Nice one rob - thought Elvis's horse ran another nice race - but I think the stable needs to get a more experienced jock - young Evert really had SS too far back imo (and he's going to ride Laurel next week :S)

That is 7 losing Vaal Sand race days on the trot for me…strangely, not feeling so gloomy though.
Winter’s Song did the business and may well be ‘something special’- speed ratings for the 3 wins now read 88-105-100…did he finish with something ‘in hand’?
Rob, thanks for your friendly words, they certainly felt sincere.
Frodo, I would at some stage like to express a little more on my ‘personal style’ of betting and ‘value’ selections for clarity…hopefully by the next Vaal Sand meeting.
I do appreciate the enquiries and advices as they call one to further considerations and scrutiny. I have expressed my thoughts and feelings with horse playing under Loopy Logic’s Key Qualities, around the end of March, I think.
I hope I do not put anyone off what they consider ‘a good bet’, although I know I am not responsible. Whilst speed ratings (specifically mine) are not for everyone, I enjoy processing them and sincerely hope others can benefit from them.
I would be really chuffed if anyone boxed my top 4 rated in Trifectas yesterday (races 3-
and showed a profit ( Race 7 paid R255) or even played the my value selection for places(heavens forbid) for a small profit on the day. These are not my type of plays….I do however, prefer to be HAPPY rather than RIGHT.
On maturity and experience, a little story….when Lester Piggot rode Mountain Call to victory in the last race at Ascot, someday in 1978, it marked my first big win. A shilling each way accumulator which at that stage was worth to me, 5 months salary.
At 17 I was below the ‘legal’ betting age and an older lad from the office collected the winnings from the betting shop for me.
At the time I working in the ‘Trade Room’ at William Hills Head Office in Blackfriars/Elephant and Castle. I lived in a small village on the south coast and commuted to London 5 days of the week, around 5 hours travel each day, more if I missed my connections. The travel costs were more than my salary…thankfully ‘student’ concessions applied. After a few years the concessions expired …the love for the game did not.
Some things are ‘written’ in the stars.

THH - you have certainly 'paid your dues' - looking forward to your ratings - where do you get the times you use for your ratings - do you time the races yourself from TT?
