Why has Jet Dot Com`s Sand rating went up so much? he never set the world on fire the last time he ran on sand of 59

Unfortunately unable to participate in the race day ‘banter’ due to retirement pressures (oh yes they do apply) and as a consequence of our lifestyle choice (here in the hills the phone lines are not upgraded for broadband … cell and wireless signals also not available – good and bad news).
Meanwhile, some ‘value’ selections for today (hopefully)… for quartets and PA’s.
R2 Gaucho Spin
R4 Lucky Luca (only rated Jet Dot Com 77 from the 17th March run)
R5 Jet Flyer
R7 Sylvanette
R8 Silver Specialist
Somewhat rocked as I have been on the ‘wrong’ side the last 6 Vaal sand meetings, my worst run ever.…many close calls yet not hitting the target !
Frustration is high and energy low – passion for horse playing is not enough, self compassion also required.
There are many are many parallels between horse playing and ‘life’, many similar lessons to be learnt. So what is mastery in horse playing ?

THH:
I think it must be that wintery feeling - my frustration is also high and energy low; just curious on why you would go for Lucky Luca when your ratings show Winter's Song to be far superior?

R8 Silver specialist runs, drawn in the sh!t house AGAIN, would be a BIG runner if not for the draw. Hoping for the best.
SWINGER - Exacta front runner Count Dumani / Silver coming from behind !
play well.

Elvis, why is BE on CD and not SS, or is it not your decision to make?

Frodo:
Will always go for a good priced contender over a short priced high rated horse - it is my style of play (goes with my personality).
Can be wrong about Lucky Luca. Winter's Song gave a tremendous performance lto, (Benbow is a very steady sand horse).
Although excellent fig. and well clear of others many do not repeat the effort (maybe 'bounce' or similiar.
Never banker favourites in PA no matter how good the figure, draw etc - have gone 3-5-10

My concern with Winter's Song today is the weight - 2 yr old carrying 59 in open company - fancy a bit of Shopper Challenge at huge odds. Nothing jumps out at me today - real tough coard imo - break a leg Elvis with Silver Specialist

Happy Horseplayer, having raced for over 40 years I am going to give you a FRIENDLY scolding.......You no doubt spent many hours (maybe many hundred hours) developing your Speed ratings(and I seem to remember posts where you stated that historically they work best on sand)
So why would you overturn all that effort with a 3 second decision to ignore them???????
The best way to break your 6 meeting run??.....back to what worked best and stood the test of time mate.
So endeth the sermon........lol

Plus as my granny used to say "better a short priced winner than a long priced loser"
