The Queen winning the Irish Derby would be the height of irony, but the fact that he is even turning up reflects the new status quo between the two countries. Can you imagine if a royal horse had raced in Ireland (the Republic, that is) 30 or 80 years ago?

Maybe one day there can be an Israeli horse running in the Palestine Derby (if such a thing is invented).
