Scotia on July Fever!
13 years 11 months ago
Good evening all as we enter the final furlong for the big day and hope you have the winner/s?
The forum has been buzzing with "July Fever" and I just pray the weather is kind to us on the 2nd.
We will be going down for the weekend and I am in need of a few winners as its Mrs S's birthday on the Sunday.
Again the punters were disappointed that we were watching "Ngong" on Sunday when the Irish Derby meeting was being run, in addition they showed some other obscure venue from Italy where I gather the commentator called the wrong horse, in a nutshell these type of cross over's are a disgrace and the people responsible for scheduling should be ashamed, however if you consider certain senior positions are held by "not really racing men" in their own admission, this does not sit well for the future of SA racing.
Ostrich racing from Ngong
However back to some "real" racing, on July day we have the Coral Eclipse from Sandown where So You Think and Workforce clash, the 23rd where St Nicholas Abbey still tops the board for the King George and QE Stakes plus Workforce, So You Think and Rewilding other lively contenders, the big one should be the Sussex Stakes on the 27th July where Canford Cliffs is just edging Frankel for favouritism.
The "poor mans" classic, the St Leger is run on the 10th of August and no clear fav amongst a poor crop of 3 year old colts (sorry Frankel) was considering a mile plus.
I took a group of 20 first time racegoers to the track on Saturday and although the fields were poor they all had a fantastic day, I won betting vouchers and gave them to a couple of the younger visitors who put a bet on one of Uncle George Scott's horses and I guess they are now hooked for life.
The June Interbet competition is coming to a close and scotia is hoping to keep in the top 3, where I will be sharing the winnings with my special guests at the July
The other July day specials from our sponsors are theWSB ..............and the INTERBET ., so click on all the links and show your skills.
Miss Diana
We had a great win with Miss Diana and she could be moving up a few levels to run in a mini feature on the 10th and if Igugu wins the July, we will be back down to Natal to watch her run.
The post on the jockey championship Delpech vs Marcus has had superb coverage...........may the best man win.

Poor fields the solution
MDK V Terrence Millard
I am not going to discuss the July as we have had plenty expert opinions for weeks and many TV shows with various panels but well done to Winning Ways for managing to secure MDK and Mike Bass.
As far as other sports
Here`s hoping the Stormers win the Title
Rugby: Where I also hope the Stormers 5/2 can beat the Reds and Crusaders at 22/10 and the Blues 7/1, but still think the Crusaders will lift the trophy.
Tennis: Ladies is very open at the time of posting Sharapova 7/2, Kvitova 5/1 you can have 7/1 Serena(gone) Wozniacki, Lisicki, Azarenka and any other unpronounceable name and 10/1 Venus.
The mens game rather more stable Roger 18/10, Nadal 5/2, Novak 4/1 and there is only one Andy Murray at 10/1.
Boxing: Hoping that we don't have any at the July after the drinks start to kick in and fancy Haye 17/10 to cause an upset against Kitschko 6/10 on Sat.
Good punting and may your God be with you, enjoy the July

Agree.....that is really a poor field, but still 1/3 too short for me in a maiden field. I'm sure it won't drift much more
