hard knockers (July)

Some facts I picked up on another website, about evergreen horses in the July. Gondolier and Beau Art share the record for most runs, followed by Flaming Rock:

* Goldolier:
o 1983 – finished 2nd
o 1984 – finished 5th
o 1985 – victorious as a 5 year-old
o 1986 – filled 6th place
o 1987 – filled 7th place for his last run in the race
* Beau Art:
o 1977 – ran 6th
o 1978 – placed 2nd
o 1979 – finished 5th
o 1980 – won the race!
o 1981 – finished a disappointing 8th
* Flaming Rock
o 1991 – had a spectacular win
o 1992 – unplaced
o 1993 – placed 3rd
o 1994 – placed 2nd

Classic Flag ran 1st, 2nd, and 4th in the July as well. Only three runs but worthy of a mention.

Hibs, when he ran 4th, i had him in bomb swinger bets......it almost looked like he got up for 3rd...
